// BLOGGING ON A WEDNESDAY NIGHT

I’m young. I try to read as much Camus as possible. I try to keep up with the #auspol tag. I try to listen to crooner classics like ‘My Way’, try to smile at old ladies who stumble on the bus, and try to speak of oysters as if I fully comprehend them (when in fact, they are salty fish, and that’s all I have to say on the matter). None of this will change the fact that I’m young. I’m merely a kid, and, in the grand scheme of things, an insignificant one at that.

Perhaps I don’t want to be thrown helplessly under some age stereotypes. I don’t feel the urge to wave out my hand from underneath a pile of rap singers, ripped shorts, and Rickrolling to scream “I’m abiding to society’s standards! Yes, that is I!” Yet somehow, I’ve managed to feel inclined to the constant age comment of being technologically obsessed. I don’t use Facebook, nor do I text in class. But I did manage to find myself creating a blog. A blog shouts pop culture, yet doesn’t stoop to screaming it through a modern megaphone. A blog is the future of sharing views and ideas. And, as a view and idea to share of my own, I like that. I like blogs.

Starting a blog felt like a fantastic idea to me. I’ve done it before, in my years of embarrassment (see: pathetic posts on Polyvore sets and rants about breakfast) and now, it’s time for me to do so again. I doubt this will be read by many, but to those who do, I warn you. My future in blogging is held in my hands, and, when you’re as uncoordinated as me, this feels like a big responsibility. SALT&STATUS may encompass bouts of fashion, literature, politics, and my general attitude towards anything ever. Yes, that about sums it up.

I believe that brings me to where I am currently. Sitting up in bed, a laptop perched in front of me, my hair slightly wet. Blogging on a Wednesday night.

Yes, I’m young. My blog is young. But the two of us have that in common, and, in that respect, we shall grow old together. ★

Hello! Thanks for commenting on a couple of my posts. Love hearing your feedback. I enjoy this post so very much! I really like hearing your personality, I feel like we have a lot in common. We seem to have started our blogs pretty recently in comparison to most. I don’t know how old you are, but I too am a youngster. I always love seeing other young people blogging! Can’t wait to see what lies ahead for you and your blog! If you ever have any questions about anything or need help with any blogging resources shoot me an email. I’m always down to collaborate, also.
